CBD vs. THC: How to Know Which One Is Right For You?

    Share the Buzz→

Are you curious about CBD vs THC? Many people are, and we are here to answer your pressing questions so you can make an informed decision for yourself about which one is right for you.

A variety of products form THC to CBD as well as in plant and flower form.

    A note about dosing:

Be mindful of your dosage when using THC or CBD.

A standard dose of THC in an edible is 5-10 mg, so calculate accordingly. Click here for information about dosing and potency.

Start with a low dose and wait at least an hour before slowly consuming more, as the effects of ingested cannabis can take longer to kick in and can affect people differently.

CBD vs. THC: What’s the difference in a nutshell?

    • CBD or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis plants. It has gained popularity for its potential health benefits such as reducing anxiety and alleviating pain.
    • Tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC, is the primary psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant. It produces the characteristic "high" that users experience when consuming marijuana. THC interacts with specific receptors in the brain, called cannabinoid receptors, which are part of the endocannabinoid system. This system regulates various physiological and cognitive processes, including pain sensation, mood, memory, and appetite. When THC binds to these receptors, it can trigger a range of effects. Effects vary per user, ranging from euphoria, relaxation, and altered perception of time and space.

CBD vs. THC: Which is right for you?

THC and CBD are like two cousins from the same family, with many similarities but also some distinct differences. They are both cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, but they interact differently with the body.

One significant difference is that THC is the cousin that likes to party, while CBD is the more chill and laid-back cousin. THC is responsible for the "high" feeling associated with cannabis use, while CBD has no intoxicating effects and won't make you feel altered.

THC is often used for recreational purposes, while CBD has gained popularity for potential health benefits. CBD has been shown to help with anxiety, pain, and sleep issues, among other things.

Another difference between the two is their legal status. THC is still illegal in many places, while CBD is legal in most countries if it contains less than 0.3% THC.

CBD vs. THC in the kitchen.

When it comes to cooking with CBD or THC, there are some differences to keep in mind. THC is often used in baking to make edibles like brownies or cookies, while CBD is commonly added to drinks or used in sauces and dressings.

    The rules for dosing.

When it comes to dosage, it's important to be cautious with THC, as taking too much can lead to unwanted side effects like anxiety or paranoia. CBD on the other hand, has a much higher safety profile and is generally well-tolerated even at high doses.
